Two weeks on from one of the latest celebrity weddings, and we still have one burning question – are flats now becoming a better alternative for a bride?
When Margaret Qualley married Jack Antonoff earlier this month in a small New Jersey ceremony, she certainly made a statement with her bridal look.
Switching from the more traditional aspects that we're used to in most modern weddings, there was one switch that really caught us off guard – the decision to not wear heels.
The actress instead opted to wear white Mary Janes which only featured a minuscule heel and some slight beading.
The shoes were not like the typical pair we expect to see a bride in, these were flats and allowed Margaret to be comfortable on her big day.

Pairing the shoes with a matching beaded neckline on her custom Chanel silky halter sheath dress, the hem beautifully hits her ankle and gives a stunning contrast from the two statement pieces.
Like most brides these days, Margaret changed dress for the after party to a tea-length dress by Molly Goddard, which saw a drop waist, elbow-length puff sleeves, and thick stripes across the skirt – but noticeably, she never changed out of her flats.
And it wasn't only a comfort thing that Margaret opted for as she also wore the exact same shoes to her rehearsal dinner, only proving how versatile a flatter shoe for her wedding really was.
Margaret isn't the first to do this, but could definitely be the person to make a trend out of it. Zoë Kravitz, who attended the wedding, also wore flats to the big day.
Yoko Ono also wore flats on her wedding day to John Lennon, as did Mandy Moore, Keira Knightley and Serena Williams.
The moral is, ladies, we don't need to torture ourselves with heels anymore (unless you want to, of course).
