Boohoo have announced that will continue to use wool in their products, just hours after saying that they were enforcing a ban on it. The online fashion retailer previously said that they were planning to stop sourcing wool products by the end of this year. Affiliated sites, PrettyLittleThing, Nasty Gal and Boohoo Man, were also due to stop using the textile in their products. Now however, Boohoo has reversed their stance, saying that they will in fact continue to sell products using wool "as a sustainable material." Their updated statement read: "Boohoo continues to assess all options as part of its ongoing commitment to a more sustainable future. Sky News reports that one farmer was "absolutely disgusted" by the proposed wool ban. PETA, on the other hand, were fairly (but prematurely) delighted with the news, applauding Boohoo for their animal welfare related move. “PETA is toasting Boohoo group's compassionate, business-savvy decision to scrap wool," they said. "Kind shoppers agree that no jumper or scarf is worth kicking, punching, and killing gentle sheep on the shearing floor, and we're urging other retailers to follow Boohoo's forward-thinking example."
