Monochrome is a style that never goes out of fashion… but it’s rare enough that you’ll see black on a bride.
That may all be changing though, as if any one designer is synonymous with breathtaking bridal creations it’s Vera Wang, and her latest collection is something very different.
The world-renowned designer showcased her Spring/Summer 2014 collection at a show in New York on Friday, and in a move that turned heads opted for black and white dresses, featuring bold geometric patterns and with models walking with full-length black leather gloves.
Her thoughts: It’s an edgier version of the virginal white dresses usually seen on Wang’s runway, and given her profile and reputation there’s every chance we’ll see the trend filter down to budget bridal lines too. It’s unlikely that this will be a trend that will appeal to the masses, but it’s quirky and cool and we can think of quite a few brides to be who would be stunning in these styles.
