You're thinking that once you own something you'll magically look like the person in the ad but as anyone who has ever purchased anything on the internet before will know, it doesn't exactly work like that.
That's why ASOS's latest feature for shopping its site is very welcome - it's going to start showing us what its products look like on people with different body types.
It was spotted by an eagle-eyed Twitter user last week and ASOS finally confirmed it today.
omg i love @asos even more!!! finally showing the same item on girls with different body types ??? pic.twitter.com/fU6pcbb6wt

While it's great to see more diversity in the type of models used, it's not even necessarily an issue of body positivity, it's just easier and more practical. We're less likely to have to send stuff back and get a refund if we have an idea of what it might look like on us. The move is a small but significant one for such a popular site to make. ASOS, take a bow. Here's hoping more retailers follow suit.Keep your eyes peeled as this rolls out across our app ? https://t.co/Hb4aMD4zOE
