
It's a mixed bag...
Well, the good news is that on Tuesday, you likely won't need your brolly or your rain jacket early in the day. It promises to be rather dull and cloudy overall with some patches of heavy sunshine in areas.
However, fresh and gusty southeast winds will increase in force in Atlantic coastal areas and rain will develop there later on Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Tuesday night will be very wet. Met Éireann have warned of heavy rain in Munster and Connacht with the risk of spot flooding.
As we move into Wednesday the winds will continue and there will be heavy rain for a time. There will, again, be a risk of spot flooding.
However, the weather will dry out through Munster and west Connacht later in the afternoon and evening.
The general outlook for the week is unsettled and changeable with spells of rain from time to time.
Met Éireann have said that Thursday will begin with a dry, bright morning, with some hazy sunshine for a time.
But increasing clouds from the Atlantic will bring some rain to western coastal counties later in the afternoon. It will become breezy also, as southerly winds increase fresh and gusty.
Early morning rain will clear off on Friday morning giving way to a day of bright and sunny spells and occasional showers. Most of the showers will be in the west of the country where there could be a risk of some thundery showers.
