The world's largest rabbit has been snatched from his home in Woscestershire, England. At 129 cm long (4ft 2n), Darius, a Continental Giant rabbit, currently holds the Guinness World Record for biggest rabbit. His owner, Annette Edwards, is offering a £1,000 reward for the safe return of her pet. Police believe that Darius was abducted from his enclosure in Annette's garden on Saturday night. On Twitter, Annette appealed for his return. "A very sad day," she wrote. "Darius has been stolen from his home. "Darius is too old to breed now," she added. "So please bring him back." Police in West Mercia have issued a statement on the robbery, and are appealing to the public for information. A spokesperson said: "We are appealing for information following the theft of an award-winning rabbit from its home in Stoulton, Worcestershire. "It is believed the continental giant rabbit was stolen from its enclosure in the garden of the property of its owners overnight on Saturday 10 April to 11 April." Darius received his status as the world's largest bunny in 2010. The previous title was held by his mother, Alice, who Darius subsequently overtook. His owner has a number of record-breaking rabbits. Annette told The Sun that she believes Darius was snatched by rival pet breeders, as they knew where to find him. She told the publication that they regularly move Darius' location around "to keep thieves guessing". "Someone knew what they were doing," she said. "He was stolen to order."
