He is serving a life sentence.

Wayne Couzens is to be sentenced today for three incidents of flashing before he abducted, raped and murdered Sarah Everard. The former Metropolitan Police officer is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of the 33 year old. While serving as an officer, Couzens abducted Everard as she walked home in south London before he raped and murdered her in March 2021. She was reported missing after she didn't return to her home in Brixton Hill on the night of March 3. Couzens, a Metropolitan Police officer, was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and murder the following week, on March 9. Everard's remains were discovered in a Kent woodland the next day. He had initially pled guilty to rape and kidnapping and took responsibility for Everard's death. He later pled guilty to murder. Prior to this, Couzens had been charged with multiple counts of indecent exposure while serving in Kent. Couzens allegedly drove pantless through Dover in Kent in June 2015 and he was again accused of exposing himself to a female cyclist in November 2020. It had been claimed by his legal team that he could not face trial at the time due to the publicity around Everard's murder. Last month, Couzens pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to three counts of indecent exposure. The former police officer has already pleaded not guilty to four other counts of indecent exposure, which relate to different alleged incidents at a fast food restaurant in Kent last year on January 30th and February 6th and then again on February 14th and February 27th.
