Gardaí were called to the scene shortly after 3pm this afternoon.
The bodies of a man and a woman were found in a house in Irishtown in Mayo, a village located a short distance from Ballindine.
The bodies of the man, believed to be in his 70s and the woman, believed to be in her 60s, were found in the house by Gardaí after an alarm was raised by a family acquaintance at approximately 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.
A third person, a male, was found injured at the scene and has since been taken to hospital in Galway.
Gardaí are currently investigating in an attempt to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The scene has been preserved, pending a full technical examination.
