Make up in a spray can? Her.ie has been here before… and it wasn’t pretty. 

It was with some trepidation we eyed up the arrival of Aero Minerale make-up mist on our beauty desk, but after a week of use, we’re starting to forget we ever doubted it. 

Created by celebrity and movie make-up artist Yolanda Halston, Aero Minerale boasts Angelina Jolie, Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Britney Spears, Tyra Banks and Kirsten Stewart among its many celebrity fans. Trivia note: it was used on all the vampires in the Twilight series. In fact, they used a whopping 1000 cans, one of which is clearly visible on Bella’s dressing table in the Breaking Dawn Part 1. Anyway, the Aero Minerale range has just arrived in Ireland, and we put it to the test. The first morning application was tricky, (I may have oversprayed), but by day two it was easy-peasy.

A single two-second spray was enough to get full, even coverage on the face. The formula felt ultra-lightweight, but happily lasted all day long. The oil-free formula contains Aloe Vera to hydrate skin while you wear.

To get the perfect application nailed first time, we’re got these top tips from the makers:

 1.     Shake, shake, and shake! Because Aero Minerale makeup is oil free to keep your skin feeling as well as looking its best, the mineral pigments sink to the bottom and need to be mixed up with a shake. 

2.     Zig-Zag Spray: Hold the can 6-8’’ away from your face, close your eyes and evenly mist Aero Minerale down the centre in a small zig-zag for an even, natural looking coverage.

3.     Less is More: Two seconds is all it takes to get the perfect ‘no makeup’ look. For a more customised coverage, you can apply Aero Minerale to a sponge, brush or your hand.

4.     Experiment: Aero Minerale can be used to conceal, highlight, or to create a natural, yet gorgeous look for a big night out. Also suitable for arms, legs, and décolletage providing flawless, even coverage so you can have the confidence to flaunt your pins, once summer comes around!
