Tributes are rolling in for a young Cavan GAA player who tragically died last week. Leah Farrelly will be laid to rest on Tuesday after she sadly passed away on Friday. According to her RIP.ie page, Leah passed away "unexpectedly" but "peacefully" at her home in Drumina, Virginia on Good Friday. The devastating post continues: "Much loved and cherished daughter of Dessie and Nuala and adored sister of Grace." According to The Anglo Celt, Leah was diagnosed with Long QT syndrome (LQTS) in 2013 and had been attending the Centre for Cardiac Risk in the Young Persons (CRYP). Her family has asked that rather than flowers being sent, they would like donations to be made to the Cry unit in Tallaght. LQTS is a heart rhythm condition that causes fast and chaotic heartbeats and can trigger a person to suddenly faint, suffer from seizures or in some devastating cases, it can lead to death. Her employer, Park Rí wrote: "It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Leah Farrelly who passed away peacefully at her home in Virginia, Cavan on Friday April 15th. "Leah was one of our colleagues here in Park Rí, working part-time with the Supermacs Team. We are all devastated to hear this sad news and offer our heartfelt condolences to her Father Dessie, Mother Nuala, sister Grace, the wider family, friends and work colleagues.
