Now in its 14th year, the annual Traveller Review Awards draw on more than 370 million verified guest reviews from around the globe. This year’s list highlights destinations where visitors say they feel genuinely looked after, places known for thoughtful service, warm interactions and hosts who go out of their way to make a stay memorable.

Among the cities recognised worldwide is Harrogate in the UK, known for its spa heritage, green spaces and well kept streets. The North Yorkshire town combines a relaxed atmosphere with a strong sense of community, independent shops and cafés that give it an easy charm.

Elsewhere, Montepulciano in Italy is recognised for its hilltop setting and deep rooted wine culture, while Takayama in Japan stands out for its well preserved old town and longstanding traditions of hospitality.

The rankings were compiled by Booking.com as part of its annual awards programme, which uses guest review scores to identify destinations that consistently receive high praise for hospitality.

Now, without further ado, let's jump right into Ireland's top ten most welcoming locations, which prove to be just as diverse and exceptional.

The coastal village of Doolin in Clare tops the list as it's been recognised for its dramatic Atlantic views, close-knit community spirit, welcoming pubs and seafood delights.

A warm local welcome is also guaranteed in Kenmare in Kerry, the heritage town known for its colourful streets and elegant architecture.

There’s certainly something about Kerry, as a further three locations in the county are featured, including the vibrant harbour town of Dingle, the down-to-earth market town of Tralee, and Killarney’s national park, lakes and historic estates are a clear draw for the town.

Booking.com also recognised Ireland’s beauty in the town of Donegal, shaped by wild coastlines, historic landmarks and mountains.

Likewise, Wexford and Sligo are admired as dynamic and historic coastal towns.

The strong community spirit and sweeping landscapes of Clifden in Galway County and Westport in Mayo County also secure their rightful spots in Ireland’s top ten.
