If you work from home, you could be entitled to a substantial tax relief that you may not be aware of. According to estimations, over 100,000 people work "mainly at or from home" in Ireland, and recent statistics from the CSO show that this number has been growing by over 2,000 people every year. Experts at Taxback.com claim that based on their experience with clients, the vast majority of the 100,000 people who work from home are unaware of their eligibility to claim tax relief on expenses incurred while working from home. Taxback say that home workers and e-workers who work from home on a full or part-time basis can qualify for this relief. "We process hundreds of tax refunds for people in Ireland every day and the number of people who apply for this credit is very small. So based on our own experience, we believe most who working from home are simply not aware that they can claim this tax benefit."
