The teenager fell ill at a music festival in Belfast
A teenage girl who died after falling ill at a Belfast music festival has been named locally.
Tipperary native Mia Keevan sadly passed away on Sunday, August 24th.
Mia was admitted to hospital after attending the Emerge dance festival in the Boucher Playing Fields on Sunday.
She was one of three people who were admitted to hospital after the festival.
A woman in her 30s and a teenage boy remain in the hospital.
The woman is said to be in a serious but stable condition, and the boy is expected to make a full recovery.
The PSNI has launched an investigation following Mia's untimely death.
They issued a statement: "Police will continue to work closely with event organisers and the licensing authority to ensure that events remain safe and enjoyable for all of those in attendance."
Mia has been fondly remembered as a "much-loved girl" who lit up every room she walked into.
A GoFundMe has been launched to support her family during this unthinkable time.
"We are heartbroken to share the passing of Mia. A bright, fun, and much-loved girl who touched the hearts of anyone who knew her. Mia was such an outgoing person and lit up every room she walked into. Her laughter and warmth will never be forgotten by those lucky enough to have known her.
"At this difficult time, we are coming together to support Mia’s Family with the unexpected costs they face and to give them space to grieve without added financial worry. Any donation will make a difference and is deeply appreciated."
