It's one of the great myths about growing older, that you no longer suffer from spots. 

We suspect it’s been built up as a sort of trade-off, i.e. once you start to hit your mid-twenties and onwards - yes, you suddenly get hangovers, your stomach doesn’t naturally stay flat and the odd line appears on your face, but hey! No more spots!

First off, anytime you see a Vichy product for a tenner – take it and run, (with your paid-for goods, lest there be any confusion). These guys know what they’re doing. This product is designed to create a ‘plaster-like effect on the skin’, letting you isolate the imperfection and reduce bacterial contamination. Your skin comes into contact with a scary amount of bacteria every day. The anti-inflammatory properties will help tone down the blemish and the gel formula doesn’t dry out the skin. Benefit Boo Boo Zap €20.50 

Cute name and cute packaging comes with the territory when you’re talking Benefit beauty buys, but it’s a brand we usually opt for when looking for make-up and sadly ignore when it comes it skincare. If you’re the same, take our advice and make an exception for this buy. Boo Boo Zap is a fast acting acne treatment that purifies and dries out blemishes in a flash, and can be used both under and over makeup.

An oldie, but a goodie. This product has swept the boards at beauty awards worldwide, and continues to attract rave reviews. The combination of Micronized Benzoyl Peroxide to reduce acne and Micro-exfoliating LHA to exfoliate and even texture works in a formula that is fragrance-free, oil-free, paraben-free and non-comedogenic.
