The Irish Rugby Football Union has confirmed that Greg McWilliams will no longer coach the Ireland Women's Rugby team.
He was over the team for just 18 months and saw them through their five out of five losses in the recent Six Nations tournament.
It was reported on Monday that Greg may be leaving his role as coach but the IRFU confirmed the news today.
It came just six days after the Irish team lost 36-10 to Scotland in the last round of the Women's Six Nations.
The governing body released a statement updating sports fans about McWilliams' departure.
It reads: "The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) can today confirm that Greg McWilliams has left his role as Head Coach of the Ireland Women's XV by mutual consent and with immediate effect.
"The remainder of the current management team will remain in situ and John McKee will oversee operations until a long-term replacement is finalised.
"The IRFU would like to thank Greg for his efforts over the course of the last 18 months and wish him and his family well for the future. The IRFU will now begin the process of replacing him."
