Sinéad O'Connor was found unresponsive at her London home on Wednesday.
Police have issued a statement following the death of beloved singer Sinéad O'Connor. The 56-year-old was found dead at her home in London.
Police also confirmed they're not treating her death as suspicious.
O'Connor was discovered at 11.18 am on Wednesday, July 26th.
They stated:
"Police were called at 11:18 hrs on Wednesday, 26 July to reports of an unresponsive woman at a residential address in the SE24 area. Officers attended. A 56-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Next of kin have been notified. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the Coroner."
Their statement comes after her family spoke out about the singer's passing.
They have urged the public to respect their privacy as they deal with the sudden death of Sinéad.
"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."
Tributes have been pouring in for the singer following the death of Sinéad O'Connor.
Imelda May, President Higgins, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar and Marian Keyes have all penned moving tributes to her.
Aisling Bea also penned a heartbreaking tribute to the singer who was one of her heroes.
Ryan Tubridy also broke his silence to honour his friend. He confirmed he only spoke to the singer days before her death and remembered her as "kind and passionate".
