Several people have been injured as hailstones "the size of tennis balls" started to fall in Germany.
Yesterday, the southern region of Bavaria saw an extreme weather event featuring hailstones that some meteorologists have placed at six centimetres in size.
Deutsche Welle reports that the "giant" hailstones caused multiple injuries and much damage throughout the region.
Emergency services have also reported receiving many calls from concerned residents during the hail storm.
Following the ice storm, which apparently sounded "like gunshots", many took to social media to share footage of the destruction.
