"My last ever Late Late Show country special is this Friday"
Ryan Tubridy has revealed he is taking a break from his 9am-10am Monday to Friday radio slot on RTE Radio 1 to focus on other things.
The 49-year-old says he's working on "bits and pieces" for the next few days and won't be back on air until Monday April 10th.
Speaking at the end of his show, he said: "I've got lots of TV things and bits and pieces to be doing in the next few days so I won't be here, and next week I'll be on a bit of a mid-term break, but I'll be back in for TV again.
"So the lads will look after you between now and then. In the meantime, thanks to everyone for putting it all together. I'll see you Monday week.
"My last ever Late Late Show country special is on this Friday which I am excited about, to see everybody. It's all go.
"Mind yourselves and see you on the other side."
Tubs didn't reveal who would be replacing him for but it's most likely to be Oliver Callan, Brendan Courtney or Baz Ashmawy.
The RTE star is taking the brief break from radio as speculation continues over who will replace him as host of The Late Late Show.
He announced the news and said his last Late Late Show will be in May, just days before his 50th birthday.

Daithi O'Se are among some of the suspected replacements but we've not heard any confirmation as of yet.
Miriam O'Callaghan was favourite to take on the role but she released a statement confirming she won't be putting herself forward for the job.
Ryan Tubridy said that although he's leaving as The Late Late Show host, he's not leaving RTE and will remain presenting the 9-10am show that he loves.
