If you're between the ages of 11 and 17, of course. RTÉ have issued a fresh call-out for young people to take part in a Youth Assembly on climate change in Dáil Éireann. The assembly will be the first of its kind, bringing together some of Ireland's brightest young minds to discuss what needs to be done to tackle the country's climate emergency.  157 children and teenagers from across the country will work alongside a facilitator to compose their proposals on climate action. They will then get a chance to present their views to elected officials in the Dáil. The final session of the one-day assembly will be broadcast on RTÉ News Now, as well as Oireachtas TV. Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl said that the Youth Assembly is a great way to mark the Dáil's upcoming centenary. "I am delighted that the Houses of the Oireachtas in collaboration with RTÉ are reaching out to the young people of Ireland," he said. "We have seen how passionate they are about protecting the environment and expressing their concerns on climate issues. "It is fitting that the future generation come into Leinster House and have their voices heard in the Dáil Chamber and I very much look forward to welcoming them and hearing from them first hand." Dee Forbes, RTÉ Director-General, added that it is time for this passion around climate action to be noticed. "We want to enable them to raise their voices even louder by giving them greater access to their public service media organisation," she said. "And by partnering with the Houses of the Oireachtas to convene a special Youth Assembly on this issue of great importance to us all." Applications must be filed before 12pm tomorrow, on Wednesday, September 18. Applicants must be available to attend the Youth Assembly in the Dáil on November 15.
