Rose of Tralee, Kirsten Mate Maher responds to Azealia Banks mocking her looks

Azealia Banks is making headlines for all the wrong reasons at the moment. The 212 star who is facing backlash for calling Irish women "ugly" while fighting with Aer-Lingus staff on a flight to Dublin yesterday, has lashed out again. Banks who has been reportedly banned from the airline following yesterday's issues has now taken to her Instagram to document her travels to Ireland to play a gig at The Academy. But aside from calling Irish women ugly, she decided to attack the reigning winner of the Rose of Tralee, Kirsten Mate Maher. Sharing an image of the Waterford native, she wrote: "Nah you're chopped sis" and added a crying laughing face. But since, Kirsten has responded and instead of attacking the US star back, she has decided to rise above it all, writing "@azealiabanks @ me then ??‍♀️ Kisses from a #uglyirishgirl ? #creased" Since posting the image, Kirsten has recieved massive support from followers telling her not to listen to those horrible remarks and to remember how beautiful she is. "Classy response from a real Irish Rose!" "Wow her story is absolutely disgusting. It's a good thing we have events like the Rose of Tralee to showcase just how intelligent, kind and beautiful Irish women are." Azealia is set to play at the Academy in Dublin tonight to a sold out crowd.
