Nóra Quoirin’s parents confirm body found in Malaysian rainforest is their daughter

Nóra Quoirin's parents have confirmed that the body found in the Malaysian rainforest is their daughter.

The remains were discovered earlier this morning, 2km away from the resort where the 15-year-old was staying with her family. The Lucie Blackman Trust, who are handling media enquiries for the Quoirin family, said this morning that it seemed "likely" that the body found was that of the Franco-Irish teen. They have since confirmed that Nóra's parents, Meabh and Sebastian, identified the body this afternoon at a local hospital. The 15-year-old's parents, who are Irish and French, discovered that she was not in her room and that the window of her hotel room had been left open. More than 350 people aided in the search for Nóra over the past 10 days. Her remains were discovered by a volunteer this morning near a stream 2km from where she was last seen. In a statement issued earlier this week, the Quoirin family pleaded for their daughter's return. "Nóra is our first child. She has been vulnerable since the day she was born. She is so precious to us and our hearts are breaking," they said. Nóra's family will not be making a statement at this time.
