NPHET have said they need more data on Covid cases in the ICU.
Following a meeting of the National Public Health Emergency Team yesterday, no new Covid-19 restrictions have been recommended.
However, RTÉ reports that NPHET need more data on Covid cases in the ICU. Yesterday, the number of patients in intensive care was down four to 90.
Yesterday saw the Department of Health record 23,817 new cases of the virus. The number of patients with Covid-19 in hospital was 941.
The current level of restrictions in Ireland sees indoor hospitality close at 8pm. There are also caps on the numbers that can attend indoor and outdoor events.
Hotels remain fully open but only wedding guests and residents are permitted to reside in bars and restaurants past 8pm. Nightclubs have been closed since early December.
Yesterday, it was reported that there may be up to 150,000 cases of Covid-19 that were not recorded last month. This is due to the high community positivity rate, which is over 50%. Additionally, the fact that some people may have been doing antigen tests rather than PCR tests could account for missed recorded cases.
