Daft is further proof of the terrible state of the rental market around Ireland.
According to the report, rent rates in Dublin have increased by a staggering 43%, and there are fewer than 1,400 homes available to rent in the county, down from over 5,000 in 2012.
This trend for high rents and lack of accommodation in urban areas is repeated in cities like Galway and Cork. Cork City rents have increased by 37% since 2010.
The most expensive area to rent in is Dublin South, with the average rent at a massive €1.625, while the cheapest area is Leitrim, with the average payment a very low €468. Other cheap places to rent include Roscommon, Longford and Donegal.
The property site are urging the next government to tackle the rent crisis before things get worse.
