The area of Moore Street in Dublin that was declared to be a national monument has been found to be larger than what was previously designated by the Minister For Arts and Heritage.
Previously, it was 14-17 that held special status, but in fact it should rightfully be 13-19.
A case was taken to the High Court by Colm Moore against the State to prevent the Minister from carrying out further works on 13-19 Moore Street.
RTÉ report that works will now be halted until the Minister has had an opportunity to consider the judgement
Moore had taken the case after 14-17 were declared national monuments, as he believed this designation should have included more elements of the street.
The buildings are believed to be where the leaders of the Rising fled to prior to their surrender and subsequent execution.
It had been proposed that a shopping centre would be built in the area, but this idea was met with widespread outcry from citizens and political parties alike.
