Lowest temperatures of -3 degrees are expected in the coming evenings.

While spring has technically sprung, it seems the weather is staying quite wintery, at least for a few more days. According to Met Éireann's forecast, temperatures are expected to dip to as low as -3 degrees by the end of the week, but, until then, we can expect some rainy conditions. Today will see some scattered outbreaks of rain moving across the country and highest temperatures will be between 7 and 10 degrees. Rainy conditions will continue into this evening, though we can also expect a dip in temperatures, especially in Connacht and Munster, where lowest temperatures will be between 0 and 4 degrees. There is also a risk of icy conditions. Rain is expected to clear tomorrow, and there will be some sunny spells in the morning, but, as the day goes on, showers are expected. These showers may turn thundery at times, and there is a chance of hail as well. Highest temperatures will be between 6 and 9 degrees. By Thursday evening, a big change is expected. While showers are expected to clear, many may turn wintery, especially on higher ground. Widespread frost is on the cards, while lowest temperatures will be between -2 and 2 degrees. Friday, by contrast, will be a "bright day with sunny spells" with highest temperatures of 7 to 8 degrees, but by evening, frost will develop again and temperatures will drop to -3 to 2 degrees. As we look towards the weekend, Saturday is expected to be dry with some sunny spells, with temperatures again turning colder by evening as they plummet from 7 to 10 degrees to -3 to 2 degrees. Sunday will get off to a sunny start, but cloud will develop across the country as the day goes on and some patchy light rain is forecast for the afternoon. Leinster and Ulster, however, will remain largely dry.
