Met Éireann says that the weather is going to be a bit dull and grey this morning, with rain due to cover the country as they day goes on. Today and tonight will be rather windy too with strong gusts developing around coastal towns. The weather forecaster said: "Mostly cloudy and misty in places to begin today, with outbreaks of rain. However, sunny intervals will also occur, and it will become mainly dry across the western half of the country this afternoon. The rain will be heaviest and most persistent in east Leinster.

Meanwhile, tonight we will see: "Cloud and outbreaks of rain will persist in eastern coastal counties tonight, with drier clearer conditions prevailing elsewhere.
