Met Éireann has predicted that we're in for a rather mild and - more importantly - a dry day today. For the past few days the rain has been lashing down on us so we're looking forward to a break from the damp weather. The weather forecaster said: "Fine, bright and dry in most areas today with variable cloud and good sunny spells. A few passing showers in the north and northwest. Highest temperatures ranging 10 to 12 degrees in a moderate to fresh northerly breeze." However, tonight is going to take a turn as Met Éireann says that temperatures could reach freezing point, going down to 0 degrees.

"Tonight will be dry with long clear spells. It'll be chilly with temperatures dropping to range 0 to +3 degrees with a slight ground frost - especially inland. Mist and shallow fog may form in places." The beginning of the week isn't looking bad, with mainly dry weather and even a few sunny intervals. "Minimum temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees under the clearer skies but ranging 6 to 9 degrees under cloud. Southwest breezes will increase fresh along the northwest coast. "It looks set to be a predominantly dry day on Tuesday but it will be mostly cloudy with a few patches of light rain or drizzle in Atlantic coastal districts. The best of any sunny intervals in the east and southeast of the country. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest breezes."
