The warning was issued after a country-wide snow/ice warning was issued on Monday - and still remains in effect. The warning will be in place until 9am on Wednesday, February 26, and will see wintry showers - mainly of hail and sleet - become widespread throughout the day. This will lead ot icy patches, with some snow accumulations also occurring. Looking towards the rest of the forecast, Met Éireann are predicting tomorrow will continue to be very cold with below normal temperatures. But it's not all bad news. It will be a bright day with sunny spells, but scattered showers also - some of hail and sleet - with a continuing risk of snow showers, mainly over high ground. There will be good dry periods in the East and South, with winds mostly moderate to fresh, west to northwest, decreasing light in the evening.Snow/ice warning issued
