Thank God he's going to be okay.

A man has been rescued from a cave in Wales on Monday night after spending over two days trapped inside. Being brought out of Ogof Ffynnon Ddu in the Brecon Beacons at around 7.45pm, the man was stuck there for 54 hours. Being lifted to the surface, he was left with injuries but was cheered and clapped by rescuers before he was put in a cave rescue Land Rover which was ready to bring him to an ambulance. Despite being a serious caver, the man found himself trapped since Saturday at around 1pm after experiencing a fall. His injuries are thankfully said to be non-life threatening but he has come out of the cave with a broken jaw, leg, and spinal injuries. With over 240 people involved in the man's cave rescue, there were at least eight cave rescue teams sent from other locations in the UK. Peter Francis, a South & Mid Wales Cave Rescue Team spokesperson, said that the rescue was one of the longest in the history of South Wales. He said, according to RTÉ: "This is the longest rescue we've ever done but we're very pleased with the progress being made. "The caver was very unlucky here. He's an experienced caver, a fit caver. And it was a matter of putting his foot in the wrong place. "He wasn't in a dangerous part of the cave, it's just something moved from under him."
