A man has been arrested following the stabbing of a 93-year-old man in Co Louth.
The man, in his 30s, was arrested in the Dundalk area late last night after the serious assault in Sandy Lane, Blackrock on August 10.
He is currently being detained at Dundalk Garda Station.
The 93-year-old man is being treated in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. His condition is understood to be serious but stable.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
