Irish cervical cancer campaigner Lynsey Bennett has told her Instagram followers that her cancer is "stable", after she turned down chemotherapy treatment. Bennett was one of the many women impacted by the Irish Cervical Cancer scandal. She has since been documenting her experience with the illness on her social media pages. Taking to Instagram and Twitter, the Longford campaigner explained that her treatment with the immunotherapy drug Pembrolizumab is keeping her cancer "stable". On Instagram, Lynsey wrote: "Thankfully starting to be happy about my results." She explained that it's been 10 months since she made the decision to turn down chemotherapy, and that it was one of the "best decisions" she ever made. She went on to say that she now has "shrinkage", which she attributes to the care she received in Mexico. Lynsey wrote: "So far so good after 4 months it's still stable." She wrote: "I am still living as normal a life as possible after putting my foot down about no chemo. "cancer is still stable. Mexico thank you for my shrinkage as I was informed Thursday pembro will never be able to do that." She continued: "And thank you Pembro keeping cancer stable, especially while I can't fly with clots... "I was told only 15% chance of helping and that chemo needed to be done first. Lucky I'm the kinda girl who isn't scared to take the risk and take the road less traveled."
