She said: ‘Molly wants to be a surgeon. She wants to get really good grades in her GCSEs so she’s going to Ireland to do a transition year. This will give her an extra year of biology and sciences.
‘She will be massively homesick. But I’ve told her that I think that it’s the right thing to do. Her mind is like a sponge and just soaks everything up.’
Molly will be looked after by Brian McFadden’s parents Mairead and Brendan, who Kerry says 'dote on her'.
While the family has agreed it's the best solution for Molly's future, Kerry said it hasn't been easy to come to terms with the decision:
'I have a few down days about it already.' she told the magazine. 'But I don’t want to be the one holding my daughter back from furthering her education. Knowing Molly she will be back every weekend!’
