Katie is a born leader and has proved that time and time again and although Head Coach, Vera Pauw hasn't confirmed any team for the tournament, she said she's excited to head down under with the girls. She said: "Being captain is a fantastic position to be able to lead the team to our first ever major tournament. "I want to make sure I'm fit and healthy and ready to go have my feet on the plane. Obviously, nothings ever guaranteed and yeah, we're all really excited." Katie told us she's been taking some time off before the trip to Oz and isn't fully "in football mode" just yet. She said: "When I get home to Dublin and meet up with the rest of the Irish team, we'll get a good flow. "It's important to re-charge and re-focus because we're obviously going into a big couple of weeks and months." The Arsenal winger said she made no major changes to her training but coach Vera Pauw will be in charge of that very soon. "We're all going to be working really hard and we've got two important games before we fly out against Zambia and France so we'd be looking to put in some nice performances and do our best. "Hopefully, we'll give our Irish supporters a good send off." There's no doubt Katie and the rest of the Ireland squad will make us all proud come July 20th. They travel to Australia to take on the hosts at Sydney Stadium on July 20th. Their next game is on the 26th against Canada followed by Nigeria on July 31st."Hopefully, we'll give our Irish supporters a good send off"
