Janey Godley's daughter has said her mum is in the "final beats of her life".
In September the award-winning comedian Janey Godley revealed that she is receiving end-of-life care and will be going into a hospice after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.
"It is devastating news - but we all come to an end sometime," she said in a video.
"The chemo ran out of options and I just couldn't take any more of it - and the cancer has spread.
"So it looks like this will be getting near the end of it - and it's really difficult to speak about this and say it to people."
She went on to thank the NHS, "right down to the wee woman who holds my hand and makes me tea".
"It is devastating news to know I'm facing end of life, but we all come to an end sometime," she continued.
"The overwhelming support has been amazing and I don't know how long I've got left, before anybody asks."
"Thanks everybody for all your love, and know that I really, really appreciate the outpouring of love and the support that you've gave me," she added.
Now Godley's daughter, BBC Radio Scotland presenter, Ashley Storrie, has issued an update on her health saying that she is now in the "final beats of her life".
She revealed on a post on X that Godley had also been awarded an honorary degree from the University of Glasgow which had brought her "so much joy".
The post read: “Thank you @UofGlasgow for bestowing upon my mum the honorary degree of doctor of the University of Glasgow.
“This has brought her so much joy in the final beats of her life. Janey is so honoured and I am so immensely proud of her. Congratulations doctor Godley.”
Godley was first diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2021 which has since worsened to an untreatable stage.
The 63-year-old announced the news from her hospital bed where she was being treated sepsis which is now 'under-control'.
In a video shared with her fans, she explained that her 'cancer is spreading' so doctors have advised her to stop working to help her recuperate.
Godley was due to begin her Why Is She Still Here? tour this autumn.
In a statement released last week, her team said: "Janey has been living with stage four ovarian cancer for the past few years and the treatment from the wonderful Scottish NHS has kept the disease at bay, but sadly in the last few weeks the cancer has returned and there have been a few added complications.
"Her doctors have now advised her that she must stop work for the foreseeable future.
"Janey is devastated to let down her thousands of loyal fans, and the wonderful venues she has played many times over the years.
"She would like to thank everyone for their love and support at this difficult time."
In 2022, Godley was given the all-clear from her cancer after a scan showed 'no evidence of disease'.
Later that year, however, another scan showed signs that the disease was in her abdomen.
Godley later explained that her friend and fellow comedian, Jimmy Carr, played a role in convincing her to continue her tour.
She said: "I decided to cancel the tour, and my mate Jimmy Carr said, 'is your mouth not working?'. I went, 'yeah, my mouth works' and he said, 'well get back on tour.'"
