Ja Rule apologises to Bahamian caterer who lost $50k following Fyre Festival

Ja Rule has apologised to the Bahamian caterer who lost $50,000 of her life savings due to the tragic, disastrous debacle that was Fyre Festival. The 2017 festival was supposed to see A-list influencers, super models, and a load of people who have copious amounts of cash party for a couple of weekends while sleeping in villas and dining like kings. However, things did not exactly go according to plan as Fyre Festival organiser Billy McFarland decided to scam everyone instead, making them sleep in hurricane tents and eat slices of cheese on hard bread.  The festival's failure was documented in two new documentaries released on Netflix and Hulu. Since then, Ja Rule - who partnered with McFarland ahead of the event - has claimed that he was "bamboozled" and "hoodwinked" just like everybody else. Sure, Ja. However, it does appear that the rapper may have some sort of conscience after all, as he has taken to Instagram to issue an apology to Maryann Rolle - the Bahamian caterer who lost $50k of her life savings due to Fyre. Or he just wants a bit of decent press. Who knows. Taking to the gram, he wrote: "My heart goes out to this lovely lady... Maryann Rolle we’ve never met but I’m devastated that something that was meant to be amazing, turn out to be such a disaster and hurt so many ppl... "SORRY to anyone who has been negatively effected by the festival... Rule." Instead, she has demanded that the star pay her $100,000 to cover the money she lost - and then some. She told TMZ that she still needs more cash to pay her employees and that, unfortunately, 50k just ain't gonna cut it.  A GoFundMe page was recently started in a bid to recoup some of the money the caterer and her Exuma restaurant lost during the harrowing weekend. It has since raised over $150,000.
