Irish influencer Eabha O’Donoghue has taken to TikTok to reveal a horrifying ordeal she experienced while on a brand trip in Brazil.
Eabha and her sister Bevan were enjoying a brand trip in Brazil when they were suddenly attacked in broad daylight.
In the video, Eabha explained that they were walking one afternoon to find a store, which was located only a short distance away.
“Bevan and I were walking behind everyone, literally, I’d say five steps. Out of nowhere – we didn’t see anyone walking towards us, behind us, nowhere – a man has Bevan.

“Bevan’s first instinct was to scream. I don’t even think I made a sound; I was just pulling him off her. I don’t know what’s going on, what he’s doing to her. He’s not making a sound, she’s just screaming, and I just see him around her neck,” she explained.
“This absolute psychopath is choking my sister. He then sprints off. Bevan has the Stanley filled with water and throws it at him, and it actually hits him on the back. Bevan then starts sprinting after him, so obviously, I’m going to sprint with her. I still don’t know what he did to her.
“Everyone obviously hears her scream and sees two girls running after this man, so everyone started to come out. We got so lucky that there were police at the traffic lights and heard the screams.
“They jump out of the car, pointing guns at this man and tackle him to the ground. They put the gun to his head and smashed it over his head, so there was blood everywhere. Bevan was crying, ‘My necklace, he took my necklace!’” Eabha continued.
“My body just went into shock. I went white like a ghost, my hands went like this [shaking], my legs collapsed and went fully jelly, and I wasn’t able to stand. It was terrifying.
“I did tell her after, ‘Girl, don’t ever chase after anyone like that again,’ but it was obviously just her first instinct to do. It was his fifth time being arrested, so they did say that he was going to go to jail,” she confirmed.
“I have no idea if he was following and watching us or if he just saw the gold necklace there and then and wanted it,” Eabha recalled.
Eabha revealed that she immediately called their mother after the attack, who told them to book the next flight home to Ireland.
Before ending her video, she issued some advice to any Brazil visitors: “Don’t wear any jewellery. It doesn’t matter if it’s real gold or not; they don’t know what it is. Don’t wear anything expensive on you that can put you in that situation […] and don’t walk anywhere.”
In her own TikTok, Bevan described the incident, saying the ordeal is now "a bit of a blur" and admitting that chasing the perpetrator was a "stupid" idea.
“What I did was so stupid. Don’t do what I did. Even though I’m glad how everything turned out and I’m glad that I did what I did, but if this happens to you, don’t do it,” she confirmed.
“The Brazilian police were amazing. They calmed me down straight away. They put him in the back of the car and were like, ‘You need to come to the police station too,'” Bevan recalled.
“I got into the car, which I thought was a different car. I didn’t know that I was in the same car with him. It was a cage, so he could see me through the car, which I really didn’t like,” she confessed.
Bevan added that she had to give a statement to the police following the incident.
“When the police caught him, he was found with other people’s stuff, so he’d obviously just been going around robbing that day. He’s gone to jail now, which I don’t know how I would have dealt with it if he hadn’t been caught, and just knowing that he’s still out there,” she shared.
“I didn’t get the necklace back. I literally don’t care anymore, but in the moment I cared about it,” she concluded, adding: “I’m fine now, everything is good.”
