Already in effect and set to last until 9am on Saturday, it reads: "Rainfall accumulations from heavy showers or longer spells of rain
"Possible impacts: localised flooding, poor visibility, difficult travelling conditions."
Carlow Weather, meanwhile, said of the weather on Thursday night: "Reminder tomorrow, Friday, will turn very wet and windy, strongest gusts in Southeast coastal areas.
"Big concern over coastal flooding early Saturday morning in the Southwest with high spring tides and onshore winds after heavy rain."
In a follow-up post on X, he added: "The rain has arrived, and over 30mm will fall in parts of [the] Southwest over [the] next 24 hours.
"Wind warning updated to include Dublin today with the strongest gusts this afternoon."
He has also said there is a possibility of a storm from Monday night into Tuesday, though there is still "huge uncertainty on the weather models".
