Motorists have been warned to beware of black ice on untreated roads as temperatures are set to plummet to below freezing on Saturday and Sunday night.
Met Éireann have predicted a cloudy and misty weekend overall, with temperatures set to rise to no higher than 8 degrees during the day on Saturday and no higher than 9 degrees on Sunday.
At night, however, temperatures are set to drop to as low as -3 degrees, bringing with it the possibility of icy patches and dangerous conditions on untreated roads.
