A Facebook event has been set up for a huge rave outside 10 Downing Street in light of a scandal surrounding an alleged party that is said to have taken place last December. People were outraged after footage revealing politicians, including the now-former press secretary Allegra Stratton, laughing and joking about having held a Christmas party. Meanwhile, the public, under Covid guidelines, sacrificed their social lives and were unable to see loved ones. Many took to social media to share heartbreaking stories of their experiences last Christmas, speaking of family members that they couldn't be with before they passed away - all while politicians allegedly celebrated. The Facebook event, organised by DJ John Mancini, urges attendees to bring as many plus ones as they wish, as well as "nibbles and drink". Over 300,000 have clicked attending with a further 450,000 clicking "interested" or "maybe". Listed as the event's lineup is: "Boris Johnson and chums". Boris Johnson has apologised for the leaked video but still denies a party ever took place. "I understand and share the anger up and down the country at seeing No 10 staff seeming to make light of lockdown measures," he said. "I can understand how infuriating it must be to think that people who have been setting the rules have not been following the rules because I was also furious to see that clip." Apologising for the "impression" the video gives, he said he had been "repeatedly assured since allegations emerged that there was no party and that no COVID rules were broken."
