The Health Minister has said Ireland's Covid-19 vaccine programme is progressing.

The HSE is planning to open Ireland's Covid-19 vaccine portal for the 30-34 age group towards the end of next week, according to Health Minister Stephen Donnelly. Donnelly made the comment following the announcement on Tuesday that indoor dining will be delayed due to fears regarding the Delta variant. During the announcement, Taoiseach Micheál Martin said: "The simple truth is that we are in a race between the variant and vaccines and we want to do anything we possibly can to make sure that the vaccine wins." In a Tweet, the Health Minister said that Ireland's Covid-19 vaccine programme is progressing. He wrote: "AstraZeneca 2nd doses for those aged 60-69 to be completed in coming weeks. 351,000 vaccines administered last week. "HSE planning to open registration for those aged 30-34 towards the end of next week."

It is expected 34-year-olds will be able to apply first, with registration working backwards throughout the ages in the subsequent days. To register online for a vaccine, you will need a mobile phone number, an email address, your PPS number and your Eircode. If you do not have these things, you are advised to call the Covid-19 helpline to register by phone instead.
