Congressman Paul Ryan is the Speaker of the House of Representatives, which puts him third in line for the Presidency, and he is the youngest speaker since before the Civil War.
He comes from Irish heritage on his father's side and often frequents Irish events. He even has a Kilkenny jersey and hurley in his office.
He has spoken in the past about how his ancestors made the trek across the Atlantic to escape the Great Famine.
Yesterday he met with Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan and took the opportunity to send out a tweet commemorating the visit.

But in the wake of Donald Trump's controversial immigrant and refugee ban, a lot of people were not happy with Ryan.
"What is happening is something we support," Ryan said recently regarding Trump's ban. "We need to pause and we need to make sure that the vetting standards are up to snuff so we can guarantee the safety and security of our country."
