A hiker in a US trail is convinced that they spoke to Brian Laundrie over the weekend and claimed he seemed "dazed" as he chatted. Exploring the Appalachian Trail that runs from Georgia to Maine, Dennis Davis has insisted he met Brian after he heard an audio clip of his voice from Dog the Bounty Hunter. Brian is currently missing and is a person of interest in Gabby Petito's disappearance, as well as having a warrant out for his arrest. Dennis claims he was waved down on Saturday by a "dazed" Brian who was adamant he needed to get back to California to see his partner after they had had a fight. "There is no doubt in my mind I spoke to Brian Laundrie - none whatsoever," Dennis told the New York Post. "He said ‘man, I’m lost.’ I said ‘what are you trying to find?’ and he said ‘me and my girlfriend got in a fight but she called me, told me she loves me, and I have to get to California to see her'." "“I said ‘well, I-40 is right there and you could take it west to California’ and he said, ‘I’m just going to take this road into California’. He was worried and not making sense." This area is said to be one Brian would know well as e has been reported to have lived there for months, with Gabby also previously posting photos of her with Brian on the trail earlier this year. Dennis didn't initially realise it was Brian he had stopped to speak with until he saw news reports later on. Police and the FBI are currently on the hunt for Brian with a warrant for his arrest for fraud charges after he was accused of using someone else's bank account when Gabby went missing. 22-year-old Gabby Petito had taken a trip across the US in July with her fiancé Brian when he returned alone on September 1st and Gabby was reported missing 10 days later. Her remains were found a week later in a campsite in Wyoming with her death ruled a homicide. The cause of death is yet to be determined and her remains have not been returned to her family.
