If you're making plans this week then it's best to heed the advice of Met Éireann, especially since the weather forecast is pretty mixed.
Tonight is expected to be cold with frost setting in where skies are clear. Coldest conditions will be across Leinster as well as the northwest with temperatures expected to range from -2 to +2 degrees Celsius.
Things aren't looking too pretty for Tuesday because a cold and frosty morning is expected. The afternoon though will see some sunshine spread across the southerly and eastern regions of Ireland. Conditions are expected to remain dry for the day across most areas, however, some outbreaks of rain will feed into the far northwest as the day develops.
Tuesday night will be different though as patchy rain is expected to develop in northern areas. Extensive frost and fog could engulf the southern half of the country with overnight lows of 0 to -3, or possibly -4 C, being tipped.
Wednesday will be mainly dry with fog lifting only gradually in the midlands and south. There should still be a good deal of cloud in northern parts of the country though, but it's expected to be brighter elsewhere with sunny spells developing where the fog has lifted.
Frost and fog is tipped to return overnight though, mainly in the midland and southern areas, with conditions expected to be cloudier in the north.
There's better news though as the week enters its latter stages because Thursday to Sunday should be mainly dry.
The prevailing consensus for the weekend is that it's going to be bright and sunny by day, a little bit of patchy light rain and cloud is possible at times, especially along north and northwest coasts.
