Gardaí have ended the search for missing journalist Kate Holmquist following the discovery of a body.
The body was found on Dollymount Strand, Dublin on Monday morning. The death is being treated as a personal tragedy.
The 62-year-old was last seen in her home on Lower Albert Road, Sandycove on Saturday evening.
Holmquist grew up in the States and spent time in France before moving to Ireland.
She was a long-time Irish Times journalist and the author of two books - memoir A Good Daughter and novel The Glass Room.
