Traffic is down to one lane as a result.
A collision on the M50 northbound prior to 7am is likely to cause traffic chaos for commuters making their way into Dublin this morning.
According to AA Roadwatch, the median lane, right lane, hard shoulder and part of the left lane were blocked as a result of the collision, reportedly involving five cars, near Junction 12 Firhouse.

Emergency services attended the scene shortly after the collision, but with the M50 northbound blocked, there was already evidence of significant delays before peak traffic times in the morning.

AA Roadwatch added that onlookers may be adding to the delays.
