After a massive investigation into the circumstances surrounding YouTuber Gabby Petito's death, FBI in Denver announced that Brian Laundrie is believed to be responsible for her murder. Laundrie was initially named a person of interest when his fiancée disappeared on September 15th but he was never ruled a suspect prior to his own death. A notebook was discovered alongside Laundrie's remains, revealing statements written himself that took responsibility for Gabby's death, the FBI has confirmed. "All logical investigative steps have been concluded in this case," FBI Denver Division Special Agent in Charge Michael Schneider said in Friday's statement. "The investigation did not identify any other individuals other than Brian Laundrie directly involved in the tragic death of Gabby Petito." 22 year old Gabby and her 23 year old fiance had spent the summer travelling across the United States in a white van and posting their trip to YouTube, but it was ended when Laundrie returned to his parent's home in North Port, Florida without Gabby. She was then reported as missing by her family 10 days later. During the search for Gabby, Laundrie's family refused to cooperate with the police, only speaking to the FBI a week after the case began, only speaking about their son who then had gone missing too. They claimed he was last seen leaving their home "visibly upset" to head on a hike in the Carlton Reserve on September 13th, and his body was discovered a month later. At this time, Gabby's remains had been located and it was confirmed she had died by strangulation, with her body discovered in Grand Teton National Park on September 19th and was declared a homicide.
