The Taoiseach thinks that porn is a corrupting influence on Ireland's youth.
Speaking at the launch event for a free helpline for the victims of crime, Enda Kenny has called for a "national conversation" about porn and it's corrupting influences on Ireland's youth.
The Taoiseach highlighted the fact that the Dail are discussing various pieces of legislation to protect children from an "avalanche" of offensive online material.

The Fine Gael leader has stated that "our young people are growing up imagining that what they see on the screen might be normal sexual behaviour. There has to be a discussion about this in terms of families and children and the kind of society that is evolving".
Kenny added "what used to be termed as 'lags magazines' have grown to be replaced with pornography that's as ubiquitous as it is damaging. Our young people that are growing up, imagining what they see on a screen is normal sexual behaviour, there has to be a discussion about this".
"There is clearly an issue there that needs to be addressed and it's very hard to address, given the range and the ferocity of the avalanche of communications" and that in some cases, children are being "corrupted and tainted, by an avalanche of this kind of material" said the Taoiseach.
