Heartbreaking news.
An Irish dad-of-two was killed last week when a car mounted the pavement and hit him as he was having a drink outside a pub.
Aiden Perris, who was originally from Dublin but had settled in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, was hit by a car in the area where he lived with his wife and two children.
Another man was injured in the incident, and one woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
She was later released as police investigations continue, reports BBC News.
Dublin dad killed outside pub as car mounted pavement.
Aiden's brother, Darrin, who also lives in the Birmingham area, confirmed on social media that the 47-year-old died at the scene.
The family described Aiden as a 'devoted husband, a proud father, a loving son, and a true Irishman'.
A balloon that was left at the scene of the tragic incident had a note from Aiden's son which read: "To dad, don't be sad that you don't get to see us but you're in a better place now and God is always watching over us."
His family said: “A tragedy that has taken our beloved Aiden from us, far too soon. Aiden was a devoted husband, a proud father, a loving son, brother, uncle and a dear friend to many.
"As a true Irishman, Aiden always lived his life to the fullest, creating unforgettable memories that we will cherish forever."
They added: “He showed us the value of hard work and will be remembered for the caring, funny and selfless person that he was. Aiden was a family man whose wish would be for us to pull together and support each other during this time.
“We ask for your continued prayers and for our privacy to be respected as we navigate ourselves through this time of uncertainty. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam - may his soul be on God’s right hand.”
