Drivers have been urged to be particularly vigilant this evening as a status orange fog warning was been raised for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.
The warning is in place for the majority of the evening and tomorrow morning.
Widespread dense fog is expected overnight in much of Connacht and Ulster, with some freezing fog in places.

Met Éireann have also issued a low temperature warning for Munster, Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal.Away from the south coast, temperatures overnight will fall to lower than minus three degrees locally. Be safe on the roads.
