Republican candidate Donald Trump has been deemed 'outrageous' by The New York Times after imitating one of their reporters, Serge Kovaleski who has a congenital disability.
The incident occurred during a speech to his supporters earlier this week. Trump imitated him during a speech where he insinuated that 'thousands of people' in Jersey city were celebrating following the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001.
Trump had cited a report from Kovaleski as proof of this, but he told CNN.“I do not recall anyone saying there were thousands, or even hundreds, of people celebrating. That was not the case, as best as I can remember.”
Kovaleski suffers from arthrogryposis, a congenital condition that affects how his joints move.
This is just another in a series of controversies that have surrounded Trump since his announcement to run in the Republican candidacy race before the election next year.
